here comes the snow....lil darlin...and it's alright...

Well here in the midwest, once again, spring has eluded us and snow is coming down lightly with 3-6 inches predicted. Let's hope the weather man Terry Swails and all his fancy equipment for tracking storms is incorrect. Maybe a glitch to show so much snow on the way? That would be nice! In the entire town today running errands i saw the remains of only one snowman standing in a yard. After having a foot of snow about one month ago it seemed to me there would be many more snowmen or women lurking in America's midwest yards..but no, the frigid cold weather took over so quickly it was difficult to enjoy so much snow here. Maybe this round of snow will offer what one would hope to find with fresh snow which is warm enough weather to get outside and build a snowman! Do you wanna build a snowman? :)

in the meantime if we were to get a ton of snow again with mother nature holding spring off for awhile longer, there is always amazon shopping for pantry items to be delivered to your door! It is something handy for those really cold days.
have things you no longer want? You just may be able to trade them in for credit at Amazon...nothing like a few extra dollars and getting rid of unwanted things while shopping for new ones!

having fun on antibiotics and pain meds

The doctors were the first to say that i am the last person they ever expected to see hoping for medications.

however, if you let a toothache go for too awfully long, salt water, peroxide rinses and things like that just wont work.

a horrible infection caused pain worse than my fibromyalgia pain i experience daily, thought that was bad enough! so antibiotics, ibuprofin and a scary looking numbing type mouth rinse was prescribed. still have not convinced myself to try the mouth rinse.

I was being sarcastically funny by saying i am having fun, as this is no fun, but definitely am happy to see everyone was very helpful when i needed them. My daughter and grandchildren brought milk, my mother brought things from the store to make tacos...

Have to admit i did drive earlier to the post office to mail out a package, but once home, realized that is not a good idea. I really do not know how people drive on medications. It really does affect my focus.

The dentist most likely would say that i need to wait for antibiotics to work for at least a day. just didnt know which one to call. first thing in the morning? i am calling every one of them to see who will see me the quickest.

So lesson learned, no driving in pain, or on pain meds, or antibiotics or anti inflammatory meds, and no waiting to see a dentist! really do not like resting too awfully long. but it is for the best. If i am not better, it is not possible to really have fun.

My Stupeflix Video

My Stupeflix Video of vintage items and more. ;)

just had to give this a try. it was my first attempt at sharing on youtube. :)

so many blessings~

There are so many blessings that I have not taken a chance to stop and realize them happening lately.
My Grandma made it through getting a pacemaker. She is a strong lady! and still has a smile on her face. What a great attitude after going through so much! Since she most likely missed her parakeets, i found a little plastic parakeet on a stand. I replaced the batteries. It was 50 cents but for it's purpose and finding it at that indoor sale this weekend made it priceless.
I delivered it to her so she could have a little touch of home with her at the hospital. she will be home soon of course but
any touch of home always seems to help recovery in my opinion! :). it chirps when you get in front of it and turns its head. cutest little thing!

When we reach out and help others it always seems to come back to us threefold. I felt the urge to reach out and ask friends if they needed help this past week. What a blessing to have found a friend who said yes. Dont know what i was thinking asking someone if they needed help when i have so little myself in terms of time and resources.
However, even if you have very little, still giving is the richest feeling in the world as our purpose in life is to help others and greatly increases our chances of success in life.
In return for helping a distant friend, i gained a much closer friend as well as gained a half car load of things to find new homes for. It was most unexpected but also a blessing as it will help in so many ways!
So there is a reason for everything that happens and i didnt need to know why i would offer help when i wasnt sure i could afford to do it at all, it was meant to be that way. in exchange for finding new homes for all the items donated to me, i will in turn have more gas for helping others. and that my friends is karma and things working smoothly in the universe.

while you may see items i list for sale with high prices, i am never quite sure what to list items for exactly. i just know they all need new homes and that any funds received are greatly appreciated so am open to offers on everything! The funds are then used to help others. That is how it works! so please make an offer on any items listed and gain something you love at a great price!!! i will most likely accept your offer and never be insulted at any offer. WHen you ask for something from the universe and imagine it happening, it will happen, in time. Greatest secret to life i have learned!

magic genie in a bottle...

if you love facebook as i do, please be sure to see all the vintage percolators in my collection...more added as i find them...! and many are for sale if you can pry the pretty things from my hands...
they remind me oddly enough many times of a magic genie in a bottle...okay maybe a little eccentric thought but really, maybe someday i will shine one just right and a magic genie will pop out and grant me wishes.
I never bore easily with my great imagination!

thankful for today

Thank you from The Pyrex Gypsy and Retro City Trash and treasures,  for all the prayers and well wishes on Facebook and everywhere else.

It was a big shock to hear my grandma was flown an hour away to the big hospital for a stroke last night. Family says though she is in good spirits and lots of tests were done, they are still doing even more testing... After a heart attack and stents, stroke is much more likely but with tests done they say it was not caused by the stents...interestingly enough..and such a relief to hear her answer when i asked how she liked the helicopter ride. She said they had her wear earmuffs (headphones) so they could hear each other in the helicopter when they talked. Always a good sport, gotta love her.

Family is much more important than thrifting no matter how fun it is I stayed home today helping keep everyone posted on updates and am thankful she is doing well.

My fibromyalgia is acting up again too, rest is very important during flareups. i have learned to just take one day at a time. just like my grandma who really wants to do all her own yard work still but we all told her no to snow shoveling this winter. Glad she listened to the doctor and decided to stay inside.

hoping to have my energy back tomorrow i have tons of new treasures to get listed that need new homes!
